Spiritual experiences often come when we least expect them. Mahavishnu’s journey to Ujjain and the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple was one such experience that changed his perception of life, energy, and the universe. Mahavishnu frequently visited Jeeva Samadhis and religious temples, but it was only recently that he truly understood the deep connection between human souls and the energy fields of this earth. Here’s his story.
Skepticism Turned into Realization
Mahavishnu had heard great Siddhars say that visiting certain sacred places, especially those with a spiritual connection to us, can lead to wisdom and self-realization. However, he never truly believed it. That changed when his friend suddenly asked him to accompany him to Ujjain, a place Mahavishnu had never thought of visiting.
Ujjain, located in Madhya Pradesh, is a historically significant city where King Vikramaditya once ruled before being defeated by Shalivahana. Mahavishnu later discovered that Shalivahana was his ancestor, making him wonder if an unknown connection was pulling him toward this place.
What surprised him even more was that the day they planned their journey coincided with Thiruvadhirai, the star under which his guru, Kanchi Viswanatha Swamigal, attained Jeeva Samadhi. It felt like a sign from the universe.
Challenges Before Reaching Ujjain
Mahavishnu and his companions booked a connecting flight to reach Ujjain, but the journey was far from smooth. During the first flight, they experienced extreme turbulence something Mahavishnu had never faced before. For a moment, he thought it was the end. But miraculously, they landed safely.
Their troubles didn’t end there. During the security check for their next flight, Mahavishnu’s uncle was stopped because he had left his ID in a bag that had already been loaded onto the flight. His uncle was worried, and Mahavishnu knew he had to do something.

He tried convincing the officer, but the officer refused to help. Then, Mahavishnu asked, “If he were your family member, would you still refuse?” Something shifted. The officer called his superior, got permission, and allowed Mahavishnu’s uncle to board. The officer himself was surprised and said, “I don’t know what you did, but you convinced me.” It felt as if some higher power was guiding the situation.
Strange Experiences Upon Arrival
When they finally reached Ujjain, Mahavishnu could immediately sense a different vibration in the air. After checking into the hotel, he went for a shower, thinking he was inside for only ten minutes. But when he stepped out, his friend and uncle looked at him in shock—they said he had been inside for two hours!
Later, he stood near a pillar in the hotel, feeling a sense of peace. Suddenly, his friend asked, “Do you know how long you’ve been standing?” Mahavishnu replied, “Just a few minutes.” But his friend insisted, “You’ve been standing there for 45 minutes. And there is no pillar there!”
Mahavishnu couldn’t comprehend what had happened. Everything around him felt new as if he had stepped out of a dark hole into a completely different world. His perspective had changed—he saw people, objects, and life itself in a new light.
A Soul Connection at Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga
The next day, Mahavishnu visited the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple, a place known for its immense spiritual energy. The moment he saw Lord Shiva, he felt something deep within him. He sat there, unable to move, completely absorbed in a state of peace and bliss. It was as if his soul had found something it had been searching for.
An Unexpected Divine Confirmation
After returning to his hometown, an unexpected event reinforced his experience. Someone brought Thirunoor (sacred ash) from the same Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple and gave it to a policeman. The policeman handed it to Mahavishnu and asked him to bless him!
Mahavishnu was stunned. It felt as though the universe itself was acknowledging his experience, reminding him that everything is connected in ways we may not immediately understand.
Final Thoughts: Recognizing the Universe’s Signals
Mahavishnu shares this story because he believes such experiences can only be understood when personally felt. The universe constantly sends us signals through events, people, and places. We must recognize these signals and act upon them immediately without postponing divine-related matters.
If you ever feel an urge to visit a sacred place, follow that intuition. The experience might change your life, just as it did for Mahavishnu.
